Auction Results: Donald W. Theis Estate

It was a full house at the Westphalia Township Hall on Thursday, February 28th. Bidders, neighbors and perspective buyers filled the room as later that night 200 acres, a home and outbuildings would soon have a new owner!

This property was broken up into 4 parcels, with the option to buy all parcels, or have them broken up into different buyers.

A pre-auction appraisal that was done prior to the auction said that this property was worth $1.3 million dollars, but only the end of the auction would tell what bidders were willing to pay.

After an hour of bid calling, and discussions between bidders the final bid call was placed, and the gavel was hit for the final time for the evening. Three high bidders were beyond thrilled that they now owned this property once owned by Donald W. Theis.

Thanks to our auction and marketing team, the night ended with a total of $1.605 million in bids, plus a 3% buyers premium.

At the end of the night smiles filled the room by all, including the seller and the new owners of this beautiful property!

It’s that time of year again! Our 27th Annual Bader & Sons Co. 27th Auction is right around the corner. This yearly auction will take place on Saturday, February 23rd in St. Louis, Michigan, starting at 9am.

Prior to the start of the auction, there will be a free pancake breakfast that will take place from 7am – 9am, compliments of Bader & Sons Co. & Miedema Auctioneering.

Meet our team: Chuck Ranney

Our team is made up of individuals that come from array of backgrounds with a long list of past experiences that help them in their job today! Chuck Ranney, our Vice President of Operations is a face well known throughout Miedema Auctioneering. Chuck has been with Miedema Auctioneering since 2004 when he was first hired as setup personnel for our auctions. Chuck came to Miedema Auctioneering with a long list of expertise as Chuck previous work careers ranged from a tow truck driver & mechanic, to service manager and tire shop owner. After years of setting up auctions Chuck knew it was time to spread his wings and learn the trade of bid-calling! With the help of co-owner of Miedema Auctioneering, Scott Miedema, Chuck quickly learned the technique of calling bids & was soon at the mic calling bids like a pro! Chuck’s knowledge and experience gleaned from prior jobs helped to make him a well rounded, knowledgeable auctioneer. Chuck specializes in live auction events consisting of construction equipment, industrial equipment, farm equipment and real estate. Chuck has traveled across the U.S. providing critical leadership and management of many high profile auctions, liquidating millions of dollars of assets. Chuck also devotes his time to charity events, calling bids at benefit auctions about 10-15 times per year.

Then, in 1987, Miedema Auctioneering, Inc. was incorporated by founders Sid Miedema Sr., Sid Miedema Jr. and Scott Miedema. Over the past 30 years, we’ve worked diligently to earn a reputation for honesty and integrity in the auction industry, and have become know for conducting highly successful auction sales and accurate appraisals. Our team incorporates the latest technological advances into our auction services to ensure that our clients always have the best possible results for their auctioneering needs. In 2000, we expanded our operations to include internet auctions to go along with the live auctions that we’ve successfully managed at the auction locations.
