This past February we had the opportunity to sell the estate of Donald W. Theis. Donald had passed away and his family hired Miedema Auctioneering to sell his 200 acres, home and outbuildings through a live auction. This property was being offered in parcels from 5 acres to 80 acres or in its entirety.

A pre-auction appraisal for this property was $1.3 million, and through the help of our marketing & auction team this property was able to bring $1.605 million +3% buyers premium which brings the acreage price of $7,967 per acre!

Auction Results: Kehoe Estate

April 18 Miedema Auctioneering sold the estate of Gerald & Donna Kehoe. This property featured a ranch style home with a 2 stall garage, outbuilding, pond, and 35 acres of land located in Ada, Michigan.

This property was offered in 4 parcels or in its entirety. With the help of Miedema’s marketing team and auctioneers, we were able to bring $500,000 for this property, as it was sold to 3 different high bidders.

We thank the Kehoe Family for giving Miedema Auctioenering the opportunity to sell its property!

A week prior to this auction, Miedema Auctioneering sold all of the personal property from the Kehoe Estate. This auction featured an array of a Loader Backhoe, Tractors, Implements, Tools, Riding Lawn Mower, Shop Equipment, household items such as furniture, dishes, antiques, bedroom sets and more.

Overall the Kehoe family was happy with the results from both auctions, and Miedema Auctioneering was thrilled to be able to assist the Kehoe family in selling their property.

This auction will take place at the Hilaski Farm and will begin at 10am.

This auction will feature a wide array of equipment including: Case 115c Tractor with a 630 loader, Case 504 Tractor, Case F15 Tractor, Tillage Equipment, Hay Equipment, Grain Drill, Skid Steer Attachments, 3pt Attachments, Shop Tools, and much more. This will be a great opportunity to by some well maintained equipment.

During the auction we will take a break for lunch and there will be a lunch wagon on site to provide lunch!

Auction Results: Howard Baumann Estate

Tuesday, March 26 was a packed house at the Port Sheldon Township Hall in West Olive, Michigan as we were selling 270 Acres of Land in Holland, Michigan.

This auction was being held to help settle the estate of Howard Baumann. Howard owned 270 acres with frontage on 20th, 124th, 128th & Van Buren, just North of New Holland.

Bids flew around the room for 2 hours, and as time dwindled down, the final bids were placed and two high bidders closed the night with owning the 270 acres of land. One bidder walked away with 8 of the 9 parcels, and the second bidder walked away with 1 parcel.

At the end of the night the 9 parcels were sold for a final bid of totaling $2,005,000 + 3% buyers premium, bringing $7,648/acre!

Auction Recap: Pine Border Farm Equipment

Wednesday, March 13 we held an auction in Cedar Springs, Michigan for Pine Border Farms, as after 47 years of successful farming Cal and Carl decided to retire and sell their farm equipment through a live auction.

This auction included many great pieces of farming equipment, including a 1985 John Deere 2950. This tractor brought attention from many throughout the auction, and when it came time to bid on this tractor there were many bidders wanting to take this tractor home and put it to work! When the final bid came in on this tractor, Miedema Auctioneering soon learned that this tractor that brought in a high bid of $17,750 was the 2nd highest auction price in 28 months on a John Deere 2950!

Jef-Len Dairy Facility & Land

It was a packed house at the Agroliquid Conference Center in St. Johns, Michigan Thursday afternoon as a 300 cow free stall dairy facility and 350 acres of tiled farm land were being auctioned off to the highest bidder.

This prime piece of Real Estate and Dairy Equipment brought in bidders from all around, all hoping they would be the new owners of this great opportunity for land & dairy facility.

As bids flew throughout the room, three high bidders were able to say they were the new owners of this Dairy Facility & Land.

The 5 parcels were broken up into three new owners that can be seen in the picture below:

Auction Results: Donald W. Theis Estate

It was a full house at the Westphalia Township Hall on Thursday, February 28th. Bidders, neighbors and perspective buyers filled the room as later that night 200 acres, a home and outbuildings would soon have a new owner!

This property was broken up into 4 parcels, with the option to buy all parcels, or have them broken up into different buyers.

A pre-auction appraisal that was done prior to the auction said that this property was worth $1.3 million dollars, but only the end of the auction would tell what bidders were willing to pay.

After an hour of bid calling, and discussions between bidders the final bid call was placed, and the gavel was hit for the final time for the evening. Three high bidders were beyond thrilled that they now owned this property once owned by Donald W. Theis.

Thanks to our auction and marketing team, the night ended with a total of $1.605 million in bids, plus a 3% buyers premium.

At the end of the night smiles filled the room by all, including the seller and the new owners of this beautiful property!
